So, I loved the movie to bits. I would have prefered a bit more focus on the people on Earth though (especially Steve, Bucky, and everyone from Wakanda).

As soon as Loki was choked out in the first like ten minutes, I knew Marvel was not playing around. And what a graphic death. Probably the worst one in the movie for me because it was so up close and I don't think they will be bringing him back in A4.

I actually enjoyed Thanos and Gamora's fucked up relationship. And how they made Thanos a more complex villain than "I love Death and kill for her." You can almost see where he is coming from and why he thinks he is doing the right thing.

As soon as that finger snapped, I quietly said "Oh, shit." Marvel actually ended a movie with half the characters just gone, the good guys defeated, and the villain literally hanging out in the sun.

Thanks for fucking everything up Quill. Even though, I assume Doctor Strange saw all that and knew the only way to beat Thanos was to let him initially win.

The biggest surprise for me was Red Skull. Also amazing that the voice actor was an impressionist!

Proxima Midnight's character design was awesome and I always forget how much I love Nebula until I see her again.

Also, as a shipper Bucky's last word was Steve's name. :( JUST LET THEM BE HAPPY.

I read an interview with the screenwriters and they decided to have a bit more focus on this film with some of the ones that were going to be snapped and have others be more of a focus in the next one - they specifically called out Steve and Natasha for that.

Yeah, I figured as much. I expect Steve is going to be the one wearing the gauntlet and sacrificing himself in 4.

Maybe, but I saw a discussion about the Soul Stone that I thought seemed plausible - that either Steve or Tony sacrifice the other, making it really sad and showing that, in some way, they do love each other. But I wondered if maybe they'd bring the whole Steve-Bucky full circle and have Steve beg Bucky to do it. However it works out, like you, I think Steve is a goner.

I felt that some characters were OOC. Banner's for one (too useless), Loki (too stupid... knife, seriously?). The power levels were all over the place - Wanda was able to destroy the Stone and hold Thanos back simultaneously, while Vision was useless (versus him in Age of Ultron), Wakanda's gear looked really weird to me. And the same old "give the stone or I'll kill your loved one" grew old after the second time.
Still, there's much to like about this movie.

Well, Banner is pretty useless without Hulk so that makes sense. I think Loki was just desperate. He knew he was going to die, might as well go out trying to be good.

I wish they had shown a little phase-glitch or something to indicate Loki was trying to escape while Thanos had him, but couldn't because of Thanos' power. In previous movies he teleports and shapeshifts etc,. so you'd think he could've not been choked to death if he wanted.

I liked it overall. Some bits were just okay to me, others I really liked.

While I enjoyed the Black Order they also felt kinda nerfed to me, like almost too easy to kill? Proxima looked great though.

I knew most of the characters were going to be more glorified cameo's but I was still so super-happy to see the Black Panther lot and Wakanda in general. Also Steve doing his best to fight back, and please let me have more Sam in general.

As a Steve/Bucky shipper Bucky's last word being 'Steve?' was pretty WHY to me but I also really couldn't feel much of any kind of way over those that got dusted because I know they'll be back.

This movie did make me love, love, love Gamora more than I already do and her death was the one that actually really affected me, I just felt so bad and sorry for her and even though I knew she wasn't going to be saved I still wanted it to happen. Also hello Peter/Gamora being upped into an OTP for me because so much about them HURT this movie.

I was sad over Loki's death too but I've been expecting him to bite it for years so I've had a long time to come to terms with it, and I felt he got a good send-off in his last moments. So did Heimdal as well even though I didn't want him to go.

Also hello Captain Marvel end-credit scene!

I am excited for that.

But uh yeah, now time to wait for part 2 to see how they fix it, because it's clear that most of the movie is being undone. The Real deaths will be in part 2.

This movie made me love Nebula more. I just really enjoy her more and more every time I see her.

Oh Nebula is great too, I forgot to mention her but yeah I agree with you, she's so much fun to watch change tbh and I'm really hoping that either her or Quill(or both) are the ones to intervene to save Gamora from Thanos.

Oh man, I've got to stop always thinking of DC Shazam!Captain Marvel when people say "Captain Marvel." It's getting confusing!

Ah yeah, sorry for the confusion.

I'd call her Ms. Marvel but the MCU is going with Captain Marvel straight away rather than using her first title, which whatever really. But I get the confusion. :P

It's my own fault for always defaulting to the one when the other is the one getting a movie (although I think I heard a Shazam movie is in the works, too... wonder if they're just going to call him Shazam and not Captain Marvel?)

It's DC and Marvel's fault for having separate characters using the same title really.

I think they're going with Shazam to avoid confusion, at least for the title of the movie, no idea if they'll be calling him Captain Marvel or Shazam in the movie though.
