I know about his wife co-writing the books, and have heard she's been doing it for a long time - and without credit. But that doesn't really help. The characterization of women in those series is very insulting and samey, and it doesn't matter who wrote them or what their gender is. I'm sad, because I wish I could enjoy them the way I used to when I was a kid, but I just can't.
