I have been sick with flu or something similar since Friday. Yesterday I took an antihistamine, a decongestant, and some ibuprofen before going to bed; I can’t take meds with cough suppressants without feeling pukey. Before I fell asleep I’d been looking at pics of Catholic martyr mummies and glamour shots from the Met Gala.

About an hour later I had a coughing fit while still mostly asleep and my nightmare where the reason I was freezing and couldn’t breathe was that I’d been poisoned at a fancy party and was dead, and my lungs were full of embalming fluid that I had to cough out, didn’t break until I’d already gone to the bathroom and made a cup of tea, coughing the whole time. I was shivering so hard I got tea everywhere, and drenched with cold sweat.
