Fashion dolls, afaik, are just Barbies and related types of dolls.

I don't know what the fandom for it entails though.......

Fashion dolls fall into two broad categories-- Barbie and her close cousins, though usually 'fashion dolls' implies it's the higher end barbies, it does include play line fashion dolls...

And then the 16" fashion dolls, which are all high end. Gene dolls and the various Tonner doll lines. Some BJD companies also do 16" 'fashion' lines and there it gets blurry but yeah.

I don't keep up with fashion doll fandom but there are some really good repainters that I like the work of. My sister subscribes to Fashion Doll Quarterly though so I see a lot of like... stuff about the dolls themselves without any of the fandom drama.
