It's a stance that arises from sheer exhaustion over always being put on the defense when I say I like his films. I have no more fucks to give about what I'm "supporting" or those who would throw fuck yous at me for it. I'm done playing that game.

But saying that you don't give a fuck about him being a terrible human being actively invites people to argue with you about it.

If you said, like, "I know he's a terrible human being, I still like his movies" no one would give a shit. Even if you just said you liked him with no disclaimer at all, you'd be less likely to get shit about it. What you're doing is actively picking a fight about it.
