What is your garden like?

Inspired by secret 2, and I just love gardens.

I don't actively keep one, BUT I do have a sage plant that I stuck in ground when we moved into our place 8 years ago, and it's blooming for the first time! I didn't even realize it was one of the blooming types.

At the moment, a windowsill with a small bamboo, jade plant, and mint. I'm hoping to add a cactus.

My dad's in charge of it and it's mainly vegetables and fruit trees. I don't do anything except maybe weeding the vegetable garden because anything I touch dies.

I'm in the process of eradicating the invasive plants and crazy vine-based ground cover left by the previous owners and replacing it with native plants, including a patch of prairie designed to attract birds and bees. We also have a delightful catnip patch and a memorial bleeding heart that's doing very well.

I'm also waiting to see whether the moss roses come back. If not, I need to find something else to plant that the squirrels won't dig up.

The last of my hundreds of daffodils are blooming right now while the first are dying back. I’m trying to establish mint and violets and strawberries over the withering tops so it’s not just bare ground when they finish. Lots of the fruit trees have tiny green fruit, but not as many as last year because we didn’t get enough rain, but then we hardly ever do. All my stuff in pots is mostly flourishing and the lilies are gearing up to flower and the sweet peas are still going. The wasabi start may be a goner, but I’m not ready to give up and if I have to I’ll buy another next year. The grape vines have all broken dormancy. It’s a messy hodgepodge but oh well.

On the downside, half the back yard is a chicken haunted wasteland and most of the front yard is choked with weeds, but I’ll fix it all up eventually. Last year everything was weeds as tall as I was and I didn’t have time to fix anything; hopefully I’ll have it all looking presentable by autumn.

I have one rose in my one garden bed right now so I need to get some more plants to fill the space.
Eventually I want to put something on the balcony but my balcony space is the worst. It's very narrow and exposed and I spend zero time out there. Maybe I should just turn it into a giant window box?

I wish I had better outdoor space. I'd love to have a real garden again.

I just moved so I'm still in the process of finding out! So far it looks like I've got lots of daffodils and lily of the valley, which is nice. I'd like to plant more herbs and maybe a few tomato plants. Maybe a couple apple trees, too.

Nonexistent. Ever since I moved to the shady side of the apartment complex, everything dies. Not surprising, though.
