That sucks, OP. I lost my mom last year and nothing about Mother’s Day really bothers me, whether it’s blanket sympathy posts or saccharine ads, I guess because it wasn’t a big deal when my mom was alive. I usually just bought her flowers. Other holidays and events and stuff we used to do together bug me more because they meant more to her, or me, or both of us. But mourning and grief are different for everyone.
