Re: I know there are a couple of Disney World fans here...

I would really recommend checking out Disboards.com . It's a forum that's dedicated to Disney stuff, but mostly planning your vacations and keeping track of upcoming news at the parks. If you haven't been in a while there's a lot of new information regarding Fast Pass and the benefits of various hotels that I found helpful when I was planning my trip. (If you or someone in your party is current or former military, there's also militarydisneytips.com which has advice about discounted tickets and military-only hotels).

Disney currently has around 30 hotels that are owned by the company. They're spread out around the theme parks and staying at one of them comes with certain perks - free transportation to and from the airport, free buses/monorails/boats that leave every 20 minutes or so from the time a park opens until a couple of hours after it closes, ability to make your Fast Pass reservations at 60 days instead of 30 days. Within the Disney hotels there are different amenity tiers, with hotels being priced based on how convenient they are to the parks and the level of service offered. Some of the value resorts might run you from $80-150 a night depending on the time of year, while deluxe resorts generally start at $400 a night and go up from there. I've found the transportation from all of the resorts to be generally good, with the exception of leaving the parks at the end of the night right after the fireworks - the buses then are super busy and you might find yourself waiting an hour or more to get back to your room.

Thank you for the link and the info. I will Chen those boards out. Around $200 isn't that bad.
