The film was made in the 70s when there were presumably a lot less workplace safety regulations

The Cats of Shambala is Tippi Hedren's memoir that covers the making of Roar and how it resulted in her raising lion cubs, bonding with cheetahs and running a big cat sacntuary - absolutely fascinating. And slightly mind-boggling when you realise that the photo of her daughted playing tug-of-war over a pillow with a lion cub is Melanie Griffith and she grew up surrounded by big cats...
