You can get broadcast TV with an antenna cobbled together from $5 worth of parts.

If you want to watch the cable channels, though, that's easily $130/month, just for basic cable--if you wanna watch HBO, STARZ, Showtime, now you're closer to $200.

Fuuuuck that noise. We have an antenna for live sports, subscriptions to Netflix and Amazon Prime, and the ability to torrent what's not available elsewhere, like Rick & Morty.

No, you can't. In my area, because there are tons of hills and valleys and whatnot, you get *maybe* one channel, possibly two, and reception is lousy. It's not always possible.

Yeah, IF I had a digital antenna and IF I had it tied to a larger antenna attached to the roof of my house I *might* be able to get some signals from over the mountain but...not likely.

This. I pull up to my house, and the (spotty) radio reception in my car just goes away altogether. Just ain't happening.

*nod* we get more radio signals from AZ than we do from over in Vegas (I live in Boulder City) because of the mountains between us
