You can set yourself up with an antenna and converter box for under $50 (many modern TVs don't need the converter). But that will only get you a half-dozen networks, who may or may not preempt a show for regional sports.

In urban areas, the cable/internet distinction is vanishing. In my area, AT&T sells internet + phone + television; while Comcast sells television + internet + phone. Both are laying down fiber optic to within a few hundred yards of my house.
