Glad you're having fun, OP! Javert is such a compelling character anyway, but Quast plays him perfectly and is also hot as hell, it's a devastating combination XD

I'd really like to know more about the stories, they sound interesting, plus I'm a sucker for Javert-inspired characters.

Alrighty, I'll write this out as best as I can. Be forewarned that there's some amount of taking into the fact that I find Quast!Javert's aesthetics pretty damn nice, so yep there might be varying amounts of horniness in these concepts.

Pretty much the way my stories come out is that even though I may have an idea for a certain character, that certain character can star in many of the stories I have in my head. A bit of literary double-dipping if you would (or heck, just what Osamu Tezuka did with any characters in his Star System). So pretty much the Javert-lite is a character who is alternatively a priest or bishop in a modern day setting. They are particularly stiff in initial personality, but the stories they star in will explore that in differing ways.

(First story): A hurt/comfort, transformation story with elements of Catholic doctrine. Our Javert-lite character is a priest in a church. Recently there's been a strange disease making the news which turns its victims into animal-like creatures, and the members of the congregation are frightened of it, especially since a research facility devoted to it opened up not that far away. Members of the priest (the main character)'s flock ask for guidance and comfort for these unnatural times, and he is all the willing to help them out with sermons and possible religious console for this disease that seems almost mystical in origin to them. This works out fine the first couple of times, but the fearful attitude is pervasive, and his rhetoric becomes soon becomes fire-and-brimstone-esque. The church congregation loves it though, and he's becoming pretty popular.

So the congregation is feeling emboldened to try and get rid of the research facility devoted to curing the disease from their city. In their religious-fueled mob mentality, they're afraid that the facility might be a magnet for infections, and that somehow their gene-therapy efforts is messing with "god's divine plan". A researcher from the facility (main character #2), tries to explain to them that the victims aren't divinely punished from anybody, and instead are just mere victims of chance. But the priest doesn't take it well. He has the chance to step in and stop the mob since they highly value him, but doesn't take it.

Eeek, this is going on longer than I thought it would, but hopefully you can see that I'm setting up the priest to be sacrificing his morality towards the innocent in favor of the high praise he's getting in the pulpit. Perhaps he might even become bishop at this rate. He has multiple opportunities to turn back, but prosperity gospel is a hell of a drug. Finally he commits the sin of presumption, praying to god to help him in a public speech calling for the shutdown of the facility, and you know what, if there is a god in this world, this was too much for them to abide anymore.

So he gets the disease. He's goes into denial about any sudden symptoms, but winds up transforming into a wretched creature who must now be hated and hunted by anyone. Gets rescued and nursed back to health by that researcher he had been so against earlier. There's a lot altered states of mind since he's an animal now, but the main point of the story is that all beings who are alive have the same basic needs and wants as each other on the inside. Stripping away the things he thought he needed (the praise of a mad mob) has made him more humble, and if someone believes the disease was divine in origin, this whole experience is a big wake up call. It takes some time but a cure is made for him, he returns back to normal, and he is forced to consider all that he's been through this whole time. Catholic guilt is hella potent, and it was like he got a chance to meet god only to find out that god hated him then.

There's a lot of mixed up feelings for the researcher, who had cared for him in his lowest moments and was responsible for bringing him back at the edges of god's light again for a chance at penance ( that's the priest's POV, not mine nor the researcher's), but he rejects the researcher trying to calm him down with the explanation that the disease is mere chance and its victims are inherently innocent. The priest is willing to concede that the most victims are indeed blameless, but he himself most definitely deserved it. It ends on a somewhat sad note since the priest is unwilling to absolve himself of an immense guilt despite the researcher's attempts. He does however vow to help out victims in anyway he can.

(Second Story): lmao it's a porn. Someone on F!S made a hanahaki secret, and I decided to go with that not so much in terms of flowers, but instead supernaturally urgent and naughty feelings coming about as a result of unrequited love. Of course it's stars Javert-lite the bishop having the hots for that certain atheist researcher. There's a bit of an age gap, and some minor feelings of inadequacy, but it's overall a lighthearted story.

(Third Story): Javert-lite the bishop and the same researcher from the previous story are partners working for the Vatican to explore paranormal events. The researcher and bishop have very different personalities (here the bishop is more reserved and dignified though than the other stories if that makes sense) and angles of approach to the supernatural (souls don't exist vs souls do exist), but they come to appreciate each other as they realize that in their own way they are struggling to maintain faith in an often cruel world. They could be enemies, but together they are strong.

Lol@ 'varying amounts of horniness'. I like your ideas! The irony of a bishop character inspired by Javert is brilliant. I like the second story's concept the best, tho XD You really ought to post these some place.

Oh, BTW, are there, perchance, any ribbons getting undone in any of these stories?

Thank you, I'm so glad to receive a welcoming response to these story concepts. 😄

I'd rather not reveal my identity right here, but if you have an email or an account from here or tumblr, than I'd be happy to drop you a line when I ever get the story done and posted.

>>Oh, BTW, are there, perchance, any ribbons getting undone in any of these stories?

No because I chose to set them in the modern day where that may be out of touch with current fashion, BUT I WISH. Who knows, however. Maybe I can fit something in there still? ;) For sure there is already hair getting messed up due to action, and some fingers being ran through it planned in the story so there's still some hope haha!

DA

Post those stories, op!! I love Quast!vert and even if the character isn't really Javert, I'd still wanna read it. I also love reading writers' descriptions of him, especially when you can see they have the hots for him themselves, that really gets me. Any excerpts, at least? Please?

Merci beaucoup! It's wonderful to hear that my story has drawn interest!

I'd rather not reveal my identity here on F!S but if you have an email or an account here or on tumblr, I'd be happy to send you something when I have it done. Mostly I've been visualizing everything in my head since I'm primarily comics-oriented than text, but I'm starting to everything out.
