We know that. Most people know that. But just because a person condemns the Zutara fanbase doesn't mean that they're talking about you in particular. There are a lot of really classless, humourless, frustrating Zutara fans, and they are organized. That's what's meant by "Zutara fandom," I imagine - it's a bit of a generalization, but how can you talk about it specifically when it's such a huge phenomenon?

Oh no, I agree that there are some bloody terrifying Zutara fans out there. It just frustrates me, even as a casual Zutara shipper, when people assume that just because I like the idea of Zuko and Katara together that I must be a batshit insane, canon-ignoring mass of bryke hate.

Damn, this fandom is crazy.

Thank you very much for pointing this out.

I really wish I could find that thread I got yanked into back on this old ATLA forum where all the Kataang fans went batshit and insulted everything they could about the seventeen Zutara shippers on the board, just to remind everyone that THE ENTIRE FANDOM gets crazy sometimes. Does that mean we're all completely batshit psycho creator-hating jerks? No.

You're quite welcome.

It bothers me that whenever people mention crazy ATLA shippers, it's the Zutarians that get most of the flak. Don't get me wrong; there are a hell of a lot of mad Zutarians out there, but I wish people would realise that there are fans of other pairings that don't exactly act sane either.
