115. The real secret aside, I thought everyone knew what a Sue Bella was?
125. The first act is the weakest. It's not the best thing ever by far but it's watchable for the 40 minutes that it takes up, and the songs in parts 2 and 3 will earworm you, and seriously, give it a chance. It's only half an hour of your time.
144. I'm lucky. All the fanservice they got in the last week of eps was what made me ship them and I haven't really touched the fandom at all. They just work so well together.
160. Most people have that one person of the opposite orientation from them that they'd ride like a pony. The fact that your girlfriend would kick your ass over this is kind of disturbing.
174. Read anything by TrudiRose on the Pit. Especially 'Picture This'.
175. Uhm...do you even know what a Mary Sue IS? Haruhi is probably the furthest from perfect I can imagine a heroine being, and only ONE guy likes her. ONE. And he doesn't even realize it yet.

Not OP, but why should I waste even a small portion of my time on something I clearly don't like just because others do? I mean, it's perfectly fine if you like it, but don't expect everyone will even if they "give it a chance."

Oh I don't at all expect it to be universally loved even after that, but I remember not really caring for the first act too, and then it picked up for me. So basically, I didn't think it was anything special at first either, but s/he might like it better if s/he keeps going like I did. And I really don't care at all if s/he doesn't, I'm not a big Whedonite and even if I were there are more important things in the world.

I knew there was a good reason I friended you. ;D

*dead* Y HELLO THAR. Yeah, once my girlfriend and I are done watching Mai Otome we're gonna go through the whole series from the beginning, so you can watch me do a lot of reactive squeeing on LJ, natch.
