The 'UK and Europe' thing is always so cringeworty.

Not as cringeworthy as when continental Europeans try desperately to pretend that the UK wants anything to do with them. It's like watching a sad dumped girl insisting that she and her ex are meant to be.

+1

But that doesn't change the fact that the UK is part of Europe.

That analogy would work... if the UK hadn't so thoroughly fucked themselves over with the whole Brexit thing. Now they seem more like a kind of pathetic version of some tsundere chick going "I...it's not like I want anything to do with you, bleh!".

which implies the rest of europe is unaware of some of the glaring issues within the uk.

or, come to think of it, that 'continental europe' is one big mass that treats each other equally, because boy do i have news for you there.

Most people in the UK want to stay actually, the vote did not mean most people wanted to leave, only that the arseholes voted and the complacent remainers didn't.

I get so tired of this argument... The UK not wanting to be in the EU has nothing to do with the UK being a part of the European Continent. So saying UK/Europe makes no sense.

*eye roll*

Brexit vote was about European Union not Europe. There are non-EU countries in Europe, it's a geographical concept.UK is in EUrope, geographically speaking, no matter how much it does want to still consider itself some grand old separate Empire ;)
