Do *not* be ashamed! Your 'addiction' (it's not considered physically addictive) keeps you functioning and happy. There's nothing shameful about that.

This works for you, and that's a good thing. I'm glad you found something that can ease your pain and depression!

I know it's a common belief that marijuana isn't addictive, but come on. There are people out there addicted to buying crap off the shopping channel. Whether it's technically physically addictive is splitting hairs.

Not really. Physically addicting things are FAR more dangerous. That is why it is important to distinguish the two.

Uh huh, but the discussion wasn't about which is more dangerous so your argument isn't terribly relevant. tabaqui is straight up implying that psychological addictions are "real" addictions and nothing to worry about, which is not true.

Because it isn't an 'addiction' to worry about. They are using it for real health problems. No different than taking a depression med combined with a prescribed opiate.

Omg, who gives a fuck? 95 percent of the people (or more) who use marijuana on a regular basis can (and sometimes do) quit, cold turkey, with virtually no withdrawal symptoms and no 'cravings'.

And what, exactly, is your point, other than to start an argument?

Can confirm - I use marijuana every day cause it helps a lot with my anxiety depression and insomnia. I can stop - I know because I have for periods of time for various reasons, and the only real side effect it causes are a return of the symptoms I am medicating. I’ve had a much harder time kicking a caffeine addiction.

I’m sure there are people out there who are psychologically addicted to it and it causes problems, but the same can be said for sex, and having sex everyday isn’t necessarily an addiction, you know?

Yup. I have never met anyone who had trouble not smoking, even if they smoked for years, other than a resumption of the symptoms the pot was alleviating.

And even if it *is* addicting, it's still only a tiny fraction of people who actually have withdrawal symptoms and cravings. Pot just...doesn't work that way.

Another reason to friggin' legalize it.
