I also like that they actually are quite similar when they become obsessed with their (in their eyes) justified conviction. I mean, T'Challa was fucking relentlessly stubborn in Civil War the same way Killmonger is in BP. I feel T'Challa could've been a wonderful influence for Erik, it's a shame they'll never get that opportunity.
