The only thing that sticks in my craw is that after a shitty remake or reboot or sequel of the same name comes out, it’s very hard to direct uninitiated people to the appropriate/superior property. Like how am I supposed to convince my sister in law that Avatar the Last Airbender is incredible when she saw the movie, hated it, and is now soured from trying the show? Or if I try to get a friend to watch OG Terminator 1-2 and they see Genysys by mistake, so the great tension of the first ones are totally undercut by the inferior shadow? Rarr. Boo. -_-;

Yeah, for sure. I'd love more people to discover the awesomeness that is the Death Note anime, but I'd be really ashamed if their only experience was the Netflix movie and that's how they judged the series.

And it's one thing to say "oh the anime is better" but the Death Note movie threw out everything except the names and the extremely bare bones premise of the original and just filled the gaps with horribleness. They're nothing alike at all.
