Sure, but then the Netflix Death Note was literally way worse than even the bitching had prepared for.

I hated the Japanese live-action adaptations so actually thought it must at least be better than those. I am still boggled at how wrong I was.

My entire family loved the original Deathnote... And son and hubby, the MOST tolerant could take it for only ~40 minutes before the rampant changes and stupidity got to them and they turned it off. I tuned out after 30 min and purist daughter started screaming at the TV 19 minutes in.

....That's some serious badness there.
