* What tropes would it include?

Since there's limited quantities of text that you can put into a game without turning it into a complete snoozefest, a lot of my favorite stuff involves filling in the missing pieces in game stories or universes. I also have a fondness for RP backstory fic for MMORPGs.

Steve/Anyone or Steve/Platonically with everyone. Just...so much hurt/comfort. I really don't care what kind, just a lot. I do love Stoic!Steve who tries to ignore his pain until he can't any longer. Tropes: Hurt/comfort, whump, hurt/comfort, maybe deaging. That can be incorporated into it. Ends: In cuddles.

Most of my ideal fanfics involve a lot of hurt/comfort, whump, angst, slow burn romance and/or enemies to friends, some sort of redemption arc, pining, crying, a fever scene, and food. I always look for happy endings, but I want realistic ones. I don't mind OCs as long as they play minor roles. My favorite ones always have the quieter of the twosome turning into the badass to rescue the stronger one from some sort of torture and then taking care of them.

Yeah!

What I want varies depending on the fandom, but...

ACD Sherlock Holmes genfic: basically casefic that's well researched with a good mystery, written in as close to Doyle's style as possible. Original characters are fine and probably indispensable since you need a client. I'm fine with a bit of slash, but NOT as the main focus. Honestly I would just prefer something as close to the original as possible.

Jane Austen, Pride and Prejudice sequel: I want to know what happens with Georgiana and presumably what kind of man she ends up with.

I definitely feel you on the ACD but really good Holmes pastiche is so hard to pull off.

I know, and it sucks. Even the traditionally published pastiche is rarely up to snuff. The style doesn't sound right, or the characterization is off.

Fandom/pairing doesn't matter, but I want something long and tragic with so much angst that I cry at 4am. BUT, importantly the angst has to be outside the characters' control. The characters themselves are good people and don't intentionally screw each other over, but something else is fucking up their lives/relationship. So, you know that in another time and place everyone would be happy, but not now. Either because they're not in the right place, or something is going on in the world. Just general angst.

But, I'd like it to end with the hint that maybe it'll get better. Not an overt happy ever after, just a glimmer of hope :')

I like those too. Sometimes I want a good cry and those types of fics are perfect for it. But yes, I need a bit of hope at the end for those fics.

General: extremely long and detailed and slow-burning and emotional-hurt-comfort-y stories about two idiots realizing they love each other and learning that it's OK to love each other and that they deserve to be happy together. That's the high-level summary. It has to have a happy ending and I will accept no substitutes. What I really want to focus on is the emotional journey and the closeness and intimacy and desire, and the idea of two people being there for each other and helping each other to love each other.

There are all kinds of tropes and plots that I like around that - for instance, arranged marriages are a good way to get people into a situation where they're forced to be emotionally intimate even if they might not otherwise want to. But those are really secondary to the main concern. I would like to have some other kind of plot going on at the same time as the main emotional arc - ideally, something slightly spooky, involving ghosts or wizards or vampires or vampire ghost wizards, things like that. But the main point is the detail and the coziness and the emotional intimacy.

It must have a happy ending, no substitutes accepted.

- fandom / pairing = don't care
- plot = the more laughable the better
- OCs or not = see plot
- included tropes = also see plot
- does it ever even end? = IDGAF, just give me something I can point and laugh at, plz.

tl:dr - I need badfic so badly it isn't even funny...
