I used to write summaries like that when I first started writing fic because I honestly couldn't summarize well, but mine were of the twee "Tee hee, I'm so bad at this. My fic probably sucks" variety. A big part of it was insecurity 'cause if I made fun of myself first, it wouldn't hurt as bad when someone else made fun of my fic.

I know what you mean. And in some ways, I still do that when it comes to fic and videos I make. I just dropped the twee aspect of it as I got older.

Yeah...don't, don't do that. Too much self deprecation just tells the reader you don't believe in your story, so why should they?

The Ritual Apology is one of my biggest pet peeves as a reader (writers always have to apologize for at least one thing, STOP, own your ideas and your work!)

AYRT

Oh, no worries. It took me a few years to grow out of it, but I don't do it anymore. Summaries are still hard, but at least I try these days.

This. Don't get me wrong, a little bit of self-deprecation can be charming, but it's easy to go overboard with it. When people lay it on really thick, it sounds insincere.
