For me, at least. If it isn't for you, then you should write it.

Getting the atmosphere right and keeping that up, conveying the right sort of unease, and building the tension without visual or aural cues can be very difficult. Plus, I often think about story ideas in the shower or just before I go to bed and I don't really want to be thinking about scary things at those points. And, yes, I have absolutely scared the hell out of myself.
