I'm sorry to hear it, and I hope your family's financial situation improves soon. I can't say that I know how it feels to be in your situation, as my family's always had enough money to cover at least the basics. It sounds like you're still relatively young, and I hope that when you're finally on your own and working full-time, you'll be able to settle into a career that pays well enough for you to afford all those extras you've been wanting. Sometimes fandom can actually be more fun once you're an adult, since for many people, it's the first time in their lives that they've got a steady income and can choose how to spend it.

That really sucks about your sporadic Internet access. I expect having limited connectivity would make it harder to participate in fandom moreso than lack of stuff. :( Hang in there.
