Fandom Anecdotes

I recently got back in touch with an old fandom friend and we spent the whole day reminiscing about the craziest stuff we had lived and witnessed in fandom.

It was a lot of fun, so I figured someone might feel like sharing their own fandom anecdotes too.

Oh! Let me tell you about that day that everyone in an old kink meme I used to frequent got mansplained by a gay man (anon, so we only had their word about it) wanting to teach us "ladies" about the importance of lube and stretching for anal sex. Because, you know, us womenfolk don't have anuses or partners with anuses so we'll never be able to experience actual anal sex, obviously.

Of course the whole thread quickly became a mess, with some anons sharing explicit accounts of their experiences with anal sex, others complaining about how you don't always need to write every little detail (including someone talking about the possibility of poop-covered dicks), and a third group protesting the obsession with anal sex when they wished there were more fics about couples exchanging handjobs or having intercrural sex.

ngl, whenever I read fics that include this act (It's not my jam, but if it's in the fic, I'll let it rock), poop covered body parts is always a lingering thought. the same goes for any booty to mouth circumtances...but hey, the authors don't focus on it, so I don't HAVE to actively think about it.

That sounds nice, anon!

My fandom friends sent me a big care package when I'd had some unexpected and horrible life stuff going on. I am so glad I met them when I did.

I was always bad at making new friends at school. It was great having slightly older friends who thought I was interesting and fun to talk to. It gave me a lot more confidence to talk to people in person and to make plans to meet up on weekends. I didn't even notice I'd stopped doing that after losing a family member. I was able to make some really good friends in my senior year and we're still close nearly a decade later. I don't think I would have that if my fandom friends hadn't made the effort to get to know me and ask me to be involved with stuff and meet them.

I met my best friend (in my hometown before I moved) through Pokemon. I was sitting outside my classroom in college playing Diamond and he appeared out of nowhere, plonked himself next to me and actually went "MY POKEMANS. LET ME SHOW YOU THEM."
