But pretending we don't exist, pretending we're just mentally ill or confused, pretending that transphobic jokes don't hurt us, that kills us just as surely as the douchebag on the street, who will go unpunished due to a "gay panic" defense. It contributes to a culture where trans people are marginalized and murdered without consequence.
He was a piece of shit, period, and his voice spoke to thousands.

Having cancer doesn't excuse him for perpetuating harmful beliefs that get people fucking killed.

We're not just talking about TerminalBiscuit, who probably caused his own relapse through the OUTRAGE over Obsidian RUINING ART by removing a transphobic joke that he, a white cis man, insisted was not transphobic. We're talking about everyone like him. Everyone who's ever said "there are only two genders!!!" Everyone who's yelled at intersex people for using "made up New Age words." Everyone who's fallen back on their high school science text from 15 years ago to argue that trans people don't exist. Everyone who's talked about raping trans men to "set her straight." Everyone who's ever literally said they would murder their own child if they came out as transgender or gay. Everyone who said Leelah Alcorn's parents were victims.
I could go on but you're never going to listen, because this group isn't what it used to be. It's nothing but 4chan trolls now.
