Re: How much do you care about spelling and grammar?

I switch between proper spelling, grammar, and capitalization to never capitalizing at all and dropping apostrophes when the meaning is clear when i'm informally writing (here, personal tumblr posts, tweets, diary entries) and it doesn't bother me when people do that on similar forums.

for fic, I expect... some level of *giving a shit*, i guess? like the occasional typo? totally fine, happens to the best of us. i do that too. but consistently not capitalizing, typos that would be easily caught by spellcheck, or using the wrong word (loose/lose is a BIG one. and i once read a bunch of fics by an author who used the word "penchant" a lot, except it was. spelled. pension) REALLY annoys me. if it happens constantly i'll probably duck out of the fic unless i REALLY like some element of the story.

like, i don't super judge people for it in fics, because it's free and they're giving up their free time to do it. i might not read it, but i don't give it a value judgement.
