I hear ya. I was kind of into one plotline and then when it ended I remembered that I didn't give a shit about any of the characters.

"Completionist"? LOL

(Anonymous) 2018-05-26 02:43 am (UTC)(link)
nayrt, but have you never heard the term before?

(Anonymous) 2018-05-26 02:45 am (UTC)(link)
sa. Scrolling down I see others using the term "completist" vs "completionist", so maybe that's what you're LOLing about. I've seen both terms used myself, so it didn't even ping my radar.

Same. So much same. All of the same.

S2-4 are good for a low budget cape show but then it goes back to being terrible in S5.

I kind of liked it more after the whole TWS tie-in, that was actually quite fun, but as it went on I ended up disliking pretty much the entire main cast and that killed my ability to want to keep up with it.

I've heard that the Ghost Rider season was pretty fun though and sometimes I want to try watching it again... but my heart isn't in it truthfully.

I did like the Ghostrider arc. It's not that I don't enjoy the show when I actually sit down and watch it. But I know someone who adores it, and they badger me to watch constantly and I'm...like...it's never given me anything that made me feel like watching needed to be a priority, let alone some sort of sacred obligation.

I feel you on the completist thing. That's why I never get around to getting back into Supernatural. I just can't stand watching seasons 6 and 7.

(Anonymous) 2018-05-25 11:52 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm the opposite. I kind of liked season 1 and the beginning of season 2 but once the show became more and more consumed by an overarching plot I didn't like it as much. I guess I was hoping the show would be more of an adventure-of-the-week type thing, but it was too closely linked to the film timeline for that to last.

(Anonymous) 2018-05-26 12:23 am (UTC)(link)
I'm not a completionist by any means, but if a series doesn't grab me right away, it's pretty unlikely that I'll go back to it.

It gets better on episode 1x15. I'm on Season 2 and it's infinitely more interesting than S1.

You can tell yourself you'll totally watch the rest... eventually...

I don’t think this is a case like Parks and Rec where everyone is like, the show is amazing, just get through the first season which is kind of bad. AoS was bad, then got better, but it never got amazing. It only improved from being totally terrible.

I only watched season 1 & some of season 2 and hated it, so I stopped. My parents still watch it though, and any time I'm around when they do it looks terrible, so...

Man, this. I wanted to like it a lot - i wanted to enjoy Coulson and Ming-Na so much....but the first season (that I could watch) was just...unfun, and then everything I've heard about Skye (is that right? don't remember....) sounds utterly horrible.

So disappointed.

It turns out Skye is named Daisy now. We get all kinds of familial backstory for her eventually which both had really interesting parts and really kind of 'meh' parts in my opinion.

But the whole show is like that (and I say this as somebody who's watched all of it)

Omg, 'Daisy', wth.

She was annoying me a *lot* in the first season. Just too super-speshul for words, and the criticism I've read about the following seasons talked about that quite a bit - that i seemed to become a sort of overwhelming facet of the show.

So - I doubt I'll ever go back and attempt to watch it.

Daisy Johnson. She's actually a character from the comics.

She basically becomes the main character of the show for a lot of it so yeah, if you don't like her, you probably won't like it. She grew on me as she grew up but she's never been my favorite.

I stopped watching early S4 and I keep thinking I should go back and catch up, but I really can't be bothered. Don't know why, i quite liked it really.
