I'm guessing their point is that it's weird to judge a foreign show based on it not properly following the stereotypes of a different foreign country when the person complaining has never even been to either place.

Uh... even if the OP was American - which the anon has no way of knowing - how does it automatically follow that they haven't visited England? Americans travel. England is a popular tourist destination.

Americans travel the least outside their own country among all 1st world countries. The majority never leaves the US.

Also, being a tourist doesn't make you understand everything about that country and its people.

I started watching it and thought it was perfect, but I was getting too many headaches and it made it difficult to watch the subtitles. I should give it another go now.

I've heard so much about this version but have never seen it! The Jeremy Brett version is my favorite.

Is it just me or does Russian Holmes look a little like Stephen Dillane (Stannis in GOT)? In fact before, I read the secret I thought maybe someone was doing a new canon-era SH with him.

It's my favorite Holmes adaptation. <3
