General depression, I believe. He couldn't handle the pressure of being an idol any more (for example, he was terrified his second solo album wouldn't be as well as the first one).

SHINee was the group that got me into k-pop years ago & I always admired Jonghyun in particular - I was always excited to listen to his solo stuff & he seemed like a great dude in general. Alongside the fact that I'm always especially sensitive when it comes to suicide, his death hit me pretty hard.

jjong's death hit me- and my friends- really hard... he was such a bright and shining star, and it's still painful to think about how he's gone now.
