I don't know, I think it's reasonable to be annoyed if you went out of your way to do a favor for someone (a favor they asked you for, not a favor you assumed they'd want) and they didn't acknowledge it.

You need to tell her this. Show her the secret, perhaps?

(Anonymous) 2018-05-27 08:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Is it possible she's simply too busy at the moment to sit down & give it enough thought/attention to give you proper feedback?

(Anonymous) 2018-05-27 11:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Maybe, but the question is, how is she too busy to drop op a quick email to say that she's got a lot on her plate and she can't get to it right now? That's just being polite.

I'm not the OP, and things are different since the OP is writing the fic specifically FOR the person in question, but back when I beta'd fics, I've had writers throw actual e-mail tantrums if I tried to be polite about not being able to beta for them anymore.

Yeah, telling someone with suicidal ideation to kill themselves because how DARE they worry about the roof over their heads over a fanfic... There's a reason I don't beta anymore.

I highly doubt that's anything near the case with the OP, but it's a writer/feedback scenario where being polite gets you absolutely no where.

Y'all need to talk this out.

(Anonymous) 2018-05-27 08:58 pm (UTC)(link)
It's inconsiderate of her to drop off the radar if she's the one who insisted you write this fic in the first place. If I were you, I'd work on something else that actually appeals to me and drop this fic until she mentions it again. Then tell her that you stopped working on it because she didn't seem into it anymore and you had other projects to work on.

haha it's shitty but this is exactly what I would do, too.

if you're not into it, why would you torment yourself over it? for the sake of a few good passages of writing?

I second this. Set it aside and work on your own stuff for now.

Thirded. This person is being rude.

Fourthed. This sounds like a lot more stress than it's worth.

fifth-ed. Life's too short to work on fic that you're not into. Besides, my interest can wax and wane on fic that 100% mine! I need to switch things up sometimes!

(Anonymous) 2018-05-28 05:10 pm (UTC)(link)
can it be that she just likes it and has nothing to add? and probably doesn't want to steer you since you are the creator and it can go poorly for the fic?
