What is a trait that many people deride as a sign of Mary Sues, but you actually like giving your characters or reading about?

Do you consider it a Mary Sue trait?

I don't think any trait is necessarily a Mary Sue trait besides "unrealistically warping the plot or other characters."

Everything else can be balanced with enough drawbacks or explained away by being treated realistically.

This. The idea of hard traits is what ruined the usefulness of the term in the first place.

A few but I don't really believe there are many inherently Sueish traits. I'm really a fan of names that people would probably consider 'not ordinary' .

I also like weird eye colours - purple, heterochromia, iridescent...

Endless well of compassion and understanding. No one has endless wells of compassion and understanding, except Mr. Rogers. I'm all for that shit drawing in people and fixing everything and saving the world.

This is my favorite trait as well, especially when coupled by the ability to save the day with the power of love.

I like this one too. I like a sort of purity of heart and sweetness, no matter if the character has braved hell or is sheltered.
