Yeah.

There were also hints of a romance between her and Teen!Artemis later in the series so I see why they did it this way.

Oho, thank you for reminding me - Eoin Colfer did an interview back in 2013 saying he wanted Saoirse Ronan (then 19) to play Holly.

But the shipping is minimal! There's one "i'll probably fancy her when I hit puberty" line in book 2, and then the time travel book where they're both (convolutedly) the same age. Then Colfer realized he couldn't make it work and sank it to the bottom of the ocean.

The movie could just as well leave the whole thing out.

Just like Minerva.

It disappoints me because after Opal Deception, Lost Colony is my favorite of the books. Or Time Paradox.

But Atlantis Complex is straight bad. I don't remember the last one all that much.

I should reread them before next year....
