Re: Andrew Lincoln leaving The Walking Dead after this upcoming season

+1

I would watch the shit out of a Daryl and Carol show.
I think the best parts of the show were when it was very character driven with people just trying to survive and come to terms with how the world changed with the occasional oh shit moment, because I cared about those characters and I didn't want them to get eaten.

I got bored of them running into progressively more psychopathic dictators who wanted them dead, and I'm sad that Carol keeps being tucked away in different places to be this sad little old lady character. She's shown how resilient she is so many times and she deserves better writing goddamn it.

Carol and Daryl bring out the best in each other. I never get bored of them together.

YES, all of this.
I get it - the 'world ended' and everything is a shitshow. But they just kept telling the same fucking story (psychopathic dictator) over and over and over and over and over. The did that in Fear the Walking Dead, too, and I've just now quit *that* show, since they killed off my favorite (and only really interesting) character. I have no reason to watch anymore.
*sigh*

Carol and Daryl together were just damn *awesome*. I shipped 'em, but I'd be just as happy with them just being like siblings, too.

I think some of the plots from the comics could have been adapted better to the show. I remember it being more questioning about where the line between surviving and killing is and I think the show suffers when they try to just throw in a certain amount of drama per episode just for the shock factor. I struggled with that because I like all the little moments of escapism and hope that the first two seasons had. It's already such a dark premise that making it constantly grim and traumatic is almost unwatchable.

I'm still glad for the show keeping Carol and Daryl around though!

I didn't even start Fear because I was so over it by that point. I would have if my friends had loved it but I think they've stopped watching it too. I'm sorry you got attached to that character! It hurts.

I ship them as anything, tbh. Friends, family, lovers. I just love them. I would watch a whole season of them going through people's houses and making fun of their stupid art and clothes. Or gardening and hunting together. Or anything really.
Final season: Carol and Daryl kill everyone who sucks and then move into a cute little farmhouse together.
