Re: Styles/fashion things you wish were in style/would go away

as a tailor I 100000% agree on cotton. I have the most impossible time finding any natural fiber that doesn't have some poly or *shudder* spandex content. The days of everything-needs-to-stretch need to END.

there is nothing sadder than silk or wool with spandex.

that said, do you have a budget to get bespoke clothing? aka commissioned. there are some nice cotton fabrics out there, they're just, you know, on a bolt and need to be made into clothing. I've actually stopped buying everything except jeans and instead make my own clothing - button-downs, etc.

Sadly, now. Only working part time right now, and saving up for when I move out. Right now parents are paying for clothes. And I can't make my own. Learning disabilities I have that involve issues using my hands. I can never do small detail things.

ahh right, that situation. well hopefully after the move things settle and you can find someone to make things for you. I know full well it's not cheap but I wish it would come back into style, and not just because business would be better. I feel like a lot of people would be more happy with how they look if they could afford custom-fit clothing.

I sew 90% of my own clothes and share your frustration over trying to source quality fabric.

Of course it's nowhere near as frustrating as being reliant on RTW.
