Yup. The attorney I'm working for has a lot of cases involving people in detention, and he's just kind of dropped me right in the middle of it. I get the phone calls since they're more likely to answer an attorney and he can focus on going to court. I do a lot of other stuff too, but the phone calls are the one thing that's a really new experience for me. My internships were with non-profits who didn't do many cases involving detainees.
