Mac all the way. The setup just works for me. I haven't had a PC since I got my first Mac.

Linux > OS X > MS Windows.

Technically they're all PCs.

Under the old definition of PC, sure. But PC now doesn't just mean personal computer, it means IBM compatible.

True, but Apple made the switch to Intel (ironically from IBM PowerPC chips) back in 2007. So it's just a matter of what sticker you get on the front and operating system.

Nobody really uses "IBM Compatible" anymore either because IBM primarily ships Linux and is focused on the server end these days.

Desktop PC, laptop Mac. I haven’t had a MacBook yet that hasn’t lasted me a solid 5-6 years. The last year might be a bit rough, but by god it makes it. My current one is on year 4 and other than running a little warmer than it used to is doing very well.

1) i'm a techie, i want to take computers apart and tinker with them and upgrade them without needing a custom set of screwdrivers and some suction clamps
2) i do a fair bit of gaming, and they're getting better at it but ultimately macs still suck
