I like RPGing Get Smart characters on occasion.

You wouldn't believe the amount of flack I get portraying Maxwell Smart accurately. The ironic thing about this is that I'm female, and my boyfriend gets endless praise for being 99 to the nines, so to speak.

You'd think that people could understand that not all fiction has to cater to modern ideas. Can't Get Smart just be a bizarre product of its time? Can't adults believe that there doesn't have to be a PC checklist present for every discussion of past works of fiction?

I'm all for modern media making advances in representation, but making all these ideas retroactive seems censorship prone and ludicrous.
