Consider why they chose to give him a girlfriend.

I get you, but I think you need to know a little bit more about Deadpool than the first movie to get it.

Okay, but pan/bi people are still pan/bi when they're in m/f relationships. Ignoring that (or pretending it's not good enough) by acting like they're only pan/bi when they're in queer relationships means you don't actually want pan/bi representation.

Do you honestly think they chose to combine dead girlfriend angst with gay jokes in the name of bi representation?

A huge portion of his relationship with her was based in humour too, though. The way they got together in the first place was just a long line of one-liners/raunchy humour, so I'm not actually seeing all that much difference in the way he flirts with dudes?

I don't think the death of his girlfriend in itself has anything to do with his sexuality, though. It was just a lazy way to get the plot started.

Joking with a love interest is not the same as flirting with a love interest being treated as a joke.

IDK what movies you were watching but with Deadpool, EVERYTHING gets treated as a joke. Even big part of his relationship with here were treated as a joke.

Because his girlfriend Vanessa was a significant figure in his actual comic book origin story?

The only difference here is this version didn't have superpowers of her own.
