N!S1: Really? Being hated on by pretty much everyone with a brain, not to mention the countless communities dedicated to mocking and sometimes "killing" such characters, isn't enough of a backlash for something most of us do at some point in our fandom careers?

Yeah, there are also people who eat it up and egg them on, and that's unfortunate. But there's no accounting for taste.
