Drugs and alcohol seem like the best way to explain South Park fanfiction.

Maybe you are just visiting the wrong shiptags, OP.

Creek is definitely filled with wrongly researched drug abuse, but smaller ones are safe from these trends and actually have some nice reading materials.

I can only recommend K2 (Kenny&Kyle).

I haven't written South Park fic in a few years, but I realize how guilty I am of this. Sorry to you and anyone else who was sick of seeing the same device over and over again. I can recount dozens of SP fics I've read using the same thing. If I return I'll try harder to steer away from such a common trope.
