I think Bo Burnham described it best

This is definitely one of the (many) reasons that it's a bad show

I guess so. I also wish the women on the show would do funny more often, like the men do, instead of always defaulting to "sexy" or whatever.

I remember I quite liked Anne Hathaway's episode for this. I mean...it being Wrecking Ball she did kinda have to do the sexy thing a bit but I felt like she wasn't taking it seriously at all and was doing it in a fun (friendly) mocking way.

That's probably true, but

the three you have pictured are good dancers and had really good (and really flashy) routines. Jenna Dewan and Zendaya, while also great dancers, didn't seem to go for as over-the-top routines. Also, Beyoncé actually showed up for Channing Tatum, how was anyone going to top that?

Maybe, but in Tom Holland's case it's also because he's a pretty amazing dancer, and he totally nailed his performance.

Yeah, he was the ringer!

I don't disagree with your overall point but JGL does not belong as an example, he put his fucking all into those performances

Am I correct in assuming that one of the hosts of the show lipsync the same song and that's the 'Battle'? I've only watched the bits that are on YouTube, and Charming Potato's performance was stiff and not good. Which surprised me, because I've seen Magic Mike so I know he can dance. Jenna Dewan-Potato otoh, wow, she *killed* her routine (the song from the beginning of Magic Mike 2). JGL did okay, but I've seen him do a lot better dance routines. Tom Holland really does not belong here tough. His performance was incredible show of skill and athleticism.
