Lost in Space (2018)

Does anyone know if this show picks up? I'm halfway through the second episode and I'm really struggling to get through it. It's just so full of useless family drama?

I'm only watching this in the first place because I loved Toby Stephens in Black Sails. I've never seen the original version, either, so nostalgia is not a factor here. So... does it stay as dull as it's been the entire way through?

Are you fundamentally interested in big, science-fiction-y, space-opera-y shenanigans?

If yes, it may be worth watching. If no, definitely not.

I've finished up to episode 4, and it's... okay? Like, visually I find it great, but it hasn't been a show so far that has me sitting and watching ALL THE EPISODES RIGHT NOW.

I personally thought it picked up quite a bit as it kept going. Especially as they meet up with the other colonists.
