I do like what little I have heard of his American accent. Some Americans seem to have a problem with it for some reason.

Because it is terrible and sounds nothing like any actual accent that would natural occur in America.

Really? I have family in different parts of the country, and again, it doesn't sound that strange. I'd say there's some Midwestern influence, some West Coast influence, and a little bit of something British underneath, but it's a pretty good attempt at an educated American accent.

Same. I'm aware of the way I pronounce things and that some of them deviate from my Canadian-born co-workers because I have a British father and so my 'accent' is not pure Ontarian due to that.

His accent doesn't seem bad to me, and honestly I don't even really hear too much British in it. It certainly doesn't pull me out of the movies he's in or anything.

Sounds fine.

They just can't deal with it that for once, it's one of their accents getting the "the fuck's that supposed to be" treatment every other language usually has to endure in Hollywood movies.

Sure sure.

My issue was that it sounded very similar to Hugh Laurie's British>American accent, to the point where it threw me out of the movie. Especially since there was also some medical stuff going on.
