As a 40 year old - she seems like a college kid to me. And I hang out with both teens and college age kids thanks to my job. If you want good 'teen' casting? The current Spider-man and company. Those look and act like teens. Shuri? Looks her age. Which is early twenties. Acts like a college level genius and is surrounded completely by other adults which gives her no room to interact with anyone her fictional age to bring out the fact she's supposed to be younger. You think she looks sixteen? That - there's no way to say this gently but it sounds like you might hang out more with fiction than actual people.
