I love the pic for this secret! I can imagine you lying there, getting all angry with yourself, but it is so nice to lie there...

Draw something for a bit more fun than just fanart - if you're doing it for the sake of notes or recognition.

Sometimes it's more rewarding to do a random character that doesn't really exist and for the sake of practice, it's still practice.

Still, there's times I don't want to anyway. I tried to ask someone I see draw every night how she kept up the effort. Her answer rubbed me the wrong way and was a bit snooty (the gist of it without the attitude is that she does a bunch of redraws and studies, but to me that's even harder to get interested in). Turned out she was an art student, she she pretty much has to do that much art. I hadn't known that before.

Love the pic, OP! And I definitely feel you. I love writing fic and I've spent years trying to get better, but I get so lazy sometimes and I'll just be in bed thinking, "You're not sleepy. Get up and write. Get your laptop and write in bed. Just get up!", but then I'll fall asleep while telling myself that I'll work on it tomorrow. Part of it is that I have less free time now than I did when I was younger and what free time I have I want to spend catching up on sleep. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I feel this so much. I could write so much more fic if I just didn't... go to sleep instead of actually sitting down and writing.

this angry in bed picture is golden. I know that I should write more. I even know that the reason I don't is because I got out of the habit and if I'd just force myself to sit down and write every day I'd get back into the habit and it would be easier. I WANT to write as much as I used to. But..... ugh, effort, man, you know? It's like a simple three step program that I know will make me feel better and yet - well, there's a sims game that's not going to play itself and fandom secrets to check and a wall to stare at....
