I can't get past the language. I know it is silly to be able to handle all kinds of violence but not language, but I just can't. It looks fun, and I wish I could enjoy.

I don't usually like crude humour either, but it honestly works for me in Deadpool. I found both films pretty consistently funny, which probably has everything to do with how endearing he is? If it were a super unlikable comedian making the same jokes, I almost definitely wouldn't laugh, but delivery > the actual jokes is how it works for most comedy, imo, so.

Yeah, I agree. I don’t even find Ryan Reynolds attractive, as Deadpool or otherwise, but the character manages to be sweet as well as hilariously funny despite how disgusting some of the humor gets. If he were a stereotypical gruff stubble-faced action hero making the same jokes I’d probably find him obnoxious.

Seconding (thirding? Fourthsies?) the anons above me re: the character making jokes that would probably otherwise rub me the wrong way work so, so well.

There’s just enough misery and fucked up garbage going on that it’s endearing and not gross, or not off-puttingly gross. Which, coincidentally, is indeed an attitude that I find insanely attractive... at least in fiction.

Also the suit is super sexy I can’t even deny that.
