Age of consent is never taken into this, also being 18 and 19 still gets the tumblr antis pissed. shipping with Athena from Phoenix Wright (18) and D.va from Overwatch (19) occasionally gets people stirred up with 'that's pedophilia!" despite them being legal adults.

Raising the age is called pedophilia because "you sexualized a minor in your mind" even if the character is 17 and one day away from being 18. never mind that it's fine to change a character's race, sexuality, gender or anything else. Age is sacrosanct.

Shipping characters who used to be children but are now adults due to a time skip is pedophila because they "used to be children." or "it's porn of a former child."

Shipping adults with an age gap is called pedophilia because antis are generally 14 year olds who don't understand words. it used to be the 20 year type gaps which got them upset, but now they're bitching about 22/25 year olds dating which is just sad. They'll even freak out about it for real life people dating like that.

Shipping teenagers with mild age gaps (say 15/16 or 16/17) even g rated is called pedophilia because apparently all antis are homeschooled and don't understand that it's freaking common for 15/16 year olds to date, or even be in the same classes if one has an earlier birthday than the other.

Liking children's shows is now considered a case of pedophila by antis, somehow. You don't even have to ship, just watch it gen and you're basically an evil brony now. (It's fine for THEM to like it, but anybody else? nah)
