Does shampoo have a shelf life?

I bought a big bottle, probably last year, and I'm still using it. It doesn't have any expiration date on it...

Oh yeah.

"Shampoos, Conditioners, and Hair Styling Products: 1-2 years opened, 3 years unopened. Water and air that gets into the bottles could break down the formulas"

I think it may lose its scent after a while? I had a friend that had lotions for years and some of them smelled awful and became runny.

If it's got oil in it (like your friend's lotion, probably), the oil could go rancid. It's not going to hurt you, but it's not going to smell very good either.
