"Inu Yasha" may be technically marketed to kids, but there are so many themes in the series that are nuanced and adult.

I fell in love with it the first time I saw it, as a post-grad college student. This was way back when the only way to see it in the U.S. was via bootleg DVDs from Hong Kong (circa 2002). And it's still my favorite anime series of all time, even though I've seen probably hundreds of other anime series since.
