Minnesota raccoon spent the last two days climbing a skyscraper without food or water while the world watched and tweeted. She made it to the top alive and officials this morning were able to live trap her, feed her, and finally released her (far away from buildings where she'd try this stunt again.)

It just makes me wonder why the raccoon bothered. Did she get part way up and think "Shit, I guess I might as well keep going!" Did anyone think to ask after they caught her?

I have no idea, I was wondering instead. She could go up... but couldn't go down? It sounded like she went at least two days without food or water so you'd think she would have given up and gone elsewhere if she could get down.
